This is a bargain, and a great shaver. Ok, it’s not quite as close a shave as my regular razorblade but it saves a lot of time, and is more than adequate for a quick shave in the morning before work. Its nice and gentle too. Definitely a 5 stars from me
I wouldn’t say that this shaver gave a bad shave for tte 3 years I had it. It was OK. But the longevity of the shaver leaves a lot to be desired. I just took it into a repair facility, since it would no longer hold a charge. The said:
1. This shaver has a tiny one cell battery, as opposed to two large cells that some other Norelco’s have.
2. The battery is soldered into the circuit board. Hence, changing the battery means changing the circuit board.
3. The repair cost exceeds the value of the shaver.
4. Additionally, they diagnosed that my shaver had a “bad segment” in the motor. It wouldn’t start, even though the button was on, but when the repair facility popped off the heads and just twisted one of the head drive shafts, it started running. I asked what caused a bad motor segment. The repair facility said, “wear, but a shaver that is only 3 years old should not have this problem.” Looks like Norelco has cheapened their shavers to the point that they don’t last, and it is not cost effective to repair them.
